Roquette cooking

I cleaned and removed garbages in my garden yesterday. The last moment of the summer plants are almost the end. I pulled some of them. I sometimes used leaves to topping for salad 🥗. But I looked for other recipe to use roquette.

One is boiled and mixed with sesame and say sauce called “Ohitashi” in Japanese. It tasted like rape blossoms so bitter.

The other is made into Genovese sauce instead of basil. It tastes different green shallow sauce. But I try to use topping on bread or pasta.

I felt like I could live even eating grasses….

    I have only mint.
    I’m enjoying mint tea.

    By the way,
    I’m busy today(^-^).
    I’m going to exchange bedding for the nursing home from now. This is a volunteer.
    “ikiiki saloon” in the afternoon. And I go to tennis at night.

  3. I knew the name word of “Roquette” for the first time in your blog.
    At first, I misunderstood “Roquette” as “Rocket” and couldn’t understand the meaning of “Roquette Cooking”.
    But, when researching on the net, I could understand “Roquette” has such a sesame-like flavor or a bit of bitterness and a leafy vegetable originating from the Mediterranean coast rich in calcium, iron and vitamin C.
    I am not good at this kind of food, so I will not survive in the days of food shortage unlike you and “Yochan”.(LOL)

    I wish delicious dish cooking evry all the time,I looking for simple delicious food always.

    1. I bought a book about using preserved vegetables and making salad recently. It shows me how to cook instant dish to used vegetables in the fridge. For example, cabbage, potato, carrot, mushroom and cucumber and so on!
