I went driving and got lunch in such a lovely autumn fine day yesterday. On the way I stopped at the station of the road to buy fresh vegetables. I got yatsugashira and zuiki. They are both yatsugasgira plants! Did you know ?
Then I parked a car and walked around the town. There was a fine big willow weeping. I wonder how old it is! I gaze it for a moment because I recently never see such a gorgeous weeping willow around me.

I like both “yatsugashira” and “zuiki”.
Before, I used to get it from my friend several times.
The vinegared food of “zuiki” to buy at a store is expensive.

There is a row of “Hanamizuki” in my neighborhood.
I found some of the leaves in it turned red.
Due to the recent temperature difference I wonder that Hanamizuki felt autumn came?

I cooked vinegar zuiki and cooked yatsugashira with radish, carrot and mushrooms in a pan. It seems like grandmothers’ cooking today!

“Yatsugashira” is giant taro and “zuiki” is its stem.
Because my wife’s parents house make and harvest a lot of taro, those are supplied to our house every year.
There are one or two “Yatsugashira” in it. In addition, “zuiki” is also supplied. I like taro and “yatsugashira”, but not good at “zuiki”.
By the way, today I pruned the trees of chinese quince of my garden. This year, chinese quince of my house was a bad crop and the fruit was nothing completely. Such a thing was the first time.
