In our home, although my wife is having trouble peeling the chstnut as same as you, we also are eating chestnut rice several times in this season every year using the chestnut received from wife’s parents house.
But, in this year, we can’t receive the chestnut from there because those chestnut tree were cut off by the arrangement of arable land.
By the way, I had harvested a lot of persimmons every year from the persimmon tree of my wife’s parents house, but because the persimmon trees were also cut off by arrangement of arable land, I can’t harvest persimmon from this year. So, I’m sorry, but I can’t give everyone any persimmons from this year.

I struggled last year for peeling the chestnuts.
But my husband said sweet potato rice is delicious than chestnut rice.(T-T)
By the way,
My mother’s neck muscle have pain.
My mother went to the hospital today and got medicine, but it takes time to get better.
My mother also lives with me for a while.
